As everyone already knows, a few years ago I was led to give out Bibles. Especially (but definitely not limited to) homeless. So tonight seemed like as good a night as any…..

On the way home from work I dropped one off in a spot I haven’t left one at in over a year, due to the no parking near the area. After dropping it off I had a strong sense that I needed to give out another. So, I got one ready. And was told where to leave it (at a plaza a little under half a mile from my house).

So, I got one ready, and started heading that way. With the dog, of course. I figured the Holy Spirit would probably tell me which store to leave it in front of when I got there…..

As it turns out, there was a homeless person there, and that’s why He sent me there. The person was sleeping, and just as I was about to leave the Bible bag beside them, a trash truck made a loud AF noise, and woke them up! The perosn sat straight up, and they couldn’t have been more than 18 years old. I told them “Hey, I was just gonna leave this for you. I give them to quite a few people and I saw you here and thought you might like one”. I also mentioned there was some candy in the bag, and that made the kid smile huge and reach out for it.

I walked off and started praying for the kid, nothing will convince me that He didn’t send me that way because that kid is having a time of it and needs saving. They most likely either never heard the gospel before, or have and rejected it. Either way, I’m sure glad I was able to give the kid something that can (and will, I have faith!) turn their life around. Didn’t Katie Souza find a Bible in jail and get saved? Didn’t the Son Of Sam serial killer get saved in jail too, by reading the Psalms? What a good feeling to end the weekend with!
