Bibles, Bunnies, And The Truth…..

Last year right before the Easter holiday it hit me that kids need to be brought up with the Easter story as much as they do the Christmas story. So I hurriedly made a couple of baskets, included a Bible, and gave them to someone who didn’t have time to make any for their kids. I do like to shop, after all. So why not? I give out Bibles already, may as well do even more.

This year, a couple of months before Easter, I started wondering if I ought to do it again. It wouldn’t leave my mind, and then I got confirmation from a trusted person that I was to do it, so I decided I would do a dozen and see how it goes over. I already have some of them claimed and it’s still a few weeks before the holiday, so my guess is that they will all find a home. They’re for anyone, whether they don’t have the means to do one up for their kids, don’t have time because they’re out there making the means, or any other reason.

In fact, I know they will. I feel guilty like I’m not making enough, actually. I’ve decided that next year, and every year after, I will make a hundred. If need be I will give them out in nearby parks and shopping centers, or maybe find out if there’s a homeless shelter nearby that can use some. Who knows, maybe I will do more than that, we shall see. We are supposed to step out in faith and get a start on what the Holy Spirit asks us to do, rather than wait for all the answers to come before starting. Or else we would never start and therefore never fulfill our purpose. Time , space, and provision will always come to those who are doing what God asks of them through the Holy Ghost. And I intend to do just that.

Think about it, what kind of a shit-show will the next generation be if, on top of the times we are living in, none are saved? And how are they to be saved if they don’t know the true meaning of Easter – which is the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ? Even now, it’s shocking how many adults don’t know this. I had a young man tell me just a few weeks ago that he didn’t know. Thankfully, I was able to leave him with a Bible and some online recommendations to steer him in the right direction…..
