He Saved My Ass

Well, nothing’s changed. I still get thoughts that are more like premonitions. I’ll have a scenario play through my mind, and it happens. Sometimes it’s just out of the blue and I have no idea what it means and why I would be thinking such a thing. Other times it’s weird but it makes sense and I take it as what’s going to happen and act accordingly. This time was the latter, and it was a warning.

I was going to leave a few minutes early and fill my truck at the gas station. RaceTrac was on my route and would be open and safe that early, so that’s where I was headed. As I was thinking of it, I was reminding myself that I needed to make sure I had a Bible ready to leave there. (Gas stations and stores are my go-to places to leave Bibles if I don’t see anyone personally to give one to. I leave it at the gas pump or in the grocery cart, with some nice chocolate or a gift card or some money in it, it depends on what I feel like doing and if it’s too hot to leave chocolate). Anyway, I got it ready right away and put it with my things. Then as I was getting ready I had a thought come to my mind that was a scene playing out, where a cop was rude and questioned why I left the Bible there. In the scene I just said to him that there was nothing he could do about it and that if he didn’t want it left there to pick it up and take it for himself and then I left. Of course though you know that then if that happens they will start watching for that kind of stuff and probably make up some other things they can get me into trouble for. That’s how they make their money, and half the officers aren’t that good of people. Some may be, but then there are the rest of them. Anyway, I laughed about it to myself, because it would be a cold day in hell before I would bow down to that shit and pick it up and not leave it, no matter who’s pissed. There’s no law against that, for a fact.

A little while later I got to the RaceTrac, and what do I see? Three police cars there getting gas, and the only good place for me to pull into was on the other side of their pumps. Right away I remembered that scene that had run through my head earlier and made sure I was careful. Two got done with their vehicles before I did, but then they just stood there talking, which was annoying. I was just done filling my tank and putting on the gas cap when two of the cars drove off. One was still there and went over to his car, I thought to leave as well. But apparently he had not bought his gas yet. I opened my door as if to leave, but watched out of the corner of my eye until he had turned his back, then quickly got out the Bible and left it in front of the pump and got in my truck and left. It only makes sense to me that that one guy was the one who would have been a dick about it, or else I wouldn’t have received that divine warning about it. So yay! The crisis was avoided, thank God!
