Proverbs 3:5-6, King James Version
5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Proclaiming to trust in the Lord for all but leaning on yourself for everything won’t get you very far in life! This should be a no-brainer, but I guess not!
The first half of the first verse. That’s all people know, it’s all they quote, it’s all that’s on all these stupid little magnets, bumper stickers, etc. More often than not it’s the people that know religion and know about God, but don’t have a relationship with the Holy Spirit who are saying just that part. People who call themselves Christian but are into new-age practices love saying it too.
The problem with that is they’re all about self-promotion and lean on themselves for everything rather than asking God for provision. There’s a serious lack of faith in these people too, which is a root of a lot of their problems and unhappiness. I’ve never met a happy, bubbly person that quotes that like their life depends on it, just saying…..
It makes my spirit cringe…..that’s why I’m bringing it up. It’s Holy Spirit discernment kicking in and telling me how wrong that is…..so I figured I ought to clue everyone in…..
So, if you’re one of those that don’t know the whole verse, the following one that completes it, and the meaning of it…..change that! And your life will change for the better! That is all! Rant over! 👊🔥✌️🙏
