I say it all the time, “I do my best, and God provides the rest”. That above example from the Bible is in there four times, and that’s not the only time that kind of thing happened in there either. That was just the first time. Not too long ago I had my own experience with these verses, and finally I have time to sit down and tell it…..
I heard of it happening at a church within the past couple of years too. This time it was a guy who was praying over every chair the night before a church service. He was anointing each chair and as he went along he seemed to be running out of oil. The Holy Spirit told him to keep at it and so he did. And each and every chair got oiled plenty, even though the bottle appeared empty.
Just about two months ago I had it happen to myself. I was putting together the last twenty Easter baskets for the year, and it looked like I was running out of one kind of the chocolates. I had meticulously calculated how many to use for each basket, based on the amount of pounds I had bought, how many were in a pound (according to the seller), and how many baskets I was making. Even so, it appeared I was short by quite a bit. I was thinking what to do, because it was the last night I had to put them together, and obviously too late to order more. Even the stores were closed so I couldn’t go get a replacement as would make the most sense. And then…..before any panic could even come to mind…..I got a Word. And yes I certainly do mean I got supernatural direction on what to do from the Holy Spirit!
The only thing is though, that it made no sense. I knew pretty damn frickin well what I had bought, but who am I to question Him, right? So I went and got another bag of what He told me to get. And sure enough, when I counted there was an extra bag. And apparently, more in that extra bag than what was supposed to be! I was able to fill all the bags that were supposed to be filled (full, no skimping!) and have extras left over to fill bags for a couple of the younger coworkers I have. It was amazing!
*There’s a reason the Bible is called the Living Word! The pages come Alive! Anyone who says this isn’t so isn’t as Godly as they claim!*
